Facebook pick-up 'artists'

And I thought my life is not interesting enough...

So, today I get this friend request. Since I don't usually accept people just 'cause, and I only have 3 friends in common with him, and I don't really seem to recall knowing the guy, I send back a message: Do we know each other?

I have used this method in the past to weed out people who might have made an error - they were looking for someone with the same name - or people who just look for random people, friend them and don't really react to that question, basically answering my question. When I know I don't know them, I just ignore the request and, when asked by facebook whether I know them or not, I answer truthfully - I don't.

The Other Daily Rant

When I chose the name for my blog I wanted it to be as honest and expressive as possible. Since Blogger told me from the beginning that the address is available, I did not spent a second researching what other 'daily rant's are out there.

On an evening soon after I starting this blog, though, I was in dire need of inspiration, so I thought, let's google it ;)

One of the first results was this blog: Salena Lettera. I have to say I am infinitely sorry I don't have the time to read all her posts, as the few I have read were very entertaining.

I don't want to spoil the surprise, if you decide to check it out, so I will only say this: she writes very well and takes beautiful pictures. As for all the rest, I will let you discover, but it makes me want to copy one of her fans and yell 'OMG, she ROCKS!'

TV, but not on TV - Community

One of the most recent TV series I’ve been enjoying in this past season is Community, staring The Soup’s writer, producer and star Joel McHale. Think “Cronica carcotasilor” meets Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane (btw: are all truly funny men Scottish???). The show makes no grand effort to become a hit, but the writing and acting keep you tuning in week after week.

Statistics

I've long had a love and hate relationship with statistics.

Our first encounter was painful - for me - and shameful - for it, since I suspect the books cried tears of helplessness in the face of my repetitive mistakes. But we both got over it. After a bit of a fight, I thought I reached the point where I can understand it.

Teaching vs. Indoctrination

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't like it when other people want to think for me. I have a brain, thank you for the offer, but no thank you. The same goes with feelings. Don't need a psychologist or a priest to tell me how I should feel or whether or not I have the right definition for what I feel.
